Boys basketball coach Mr. Wilson reports that they had a great 2016 – 2017 season, ending with an overall record of 13-6 and a district record of 9-3. Their season ended with a 49-43 district semifinal loss to American on February 8. Mr. Wilson said that he was upset that the boys didn’t make it to the playoffs, but he is very happy with the team’s performance throughout the entire season. He wants to recognize some of his best players: senior point guard Kevin Reyes, senior guard Travon Shannon, senior guard Anthony Mera, and junior forward Gabriel Francisco.

The boys best game throughout the season was against Somerset on 12/1 because they won by a landslide of 67-23. Their toughest game was against Coral Gables on 1/27 because it was a home game against the school’s biggest rivals. They sadly lost by a score of 56-49. (By Ana Matta)
