French teacher Mr. Fertil is planning to take a trip to Paris with attending students in the 2016-17 school year.

Paris, the global center for art, fashion, gastronomy, and culture. Who wouldn’t love to take a trip there? Well, guess what? French teacher Mr. Fertil is planning to take a European trip to Paris, France, during spring break 2017, from March 17 to the 26, and you might be able to go along. Sorry, seniors, you won’t be able to go.

The trip is only open to students who are taking a French, art, or history class here at Miami High. They also must have a 2.5 GPA and at least a B in their conduct grades.

Only 24 people can go, so hurry if you are interested. If you are in Mr. Fertil’s French class, he will make you speak French while you are on the trip, to experience the culture to its fullest.

Even though Mr. Fertil has never been to Paris, he is very thrilled to go with his students. “I was contacted by the EF Travel Company last year, and they told me about this amazing trip and asked if our school wanted to participate,” he said.

This 8 day trip will include visiting the Eiffel Tower, Musee D’Orsay, Pont Neuf, and Le Louvre, which is the greatest museum of the world, and many more attractions.

Students and adults are welcome to attend this trip. The trip will cost $2,900 for students, and if parents or staff are interested, it will cost them $3,200. The cost includes airfare, 6 nights hotel in Paris, breakfast and dinner for 6 days. Students can make monthly payments or pay the full amount to the company.

Mr. Fertil already has had two meetings for interested students, and one where 15 parents showed up. If you missed it, the upcoming recruiting meeting will be on Thursday, December 17, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

For more information on payment or anything else, please contact Mr. Fertil in room 3122 or email him at [email protected].

Mr. Fertil gave advice to students who don’t have enough money and want to save up to go. He said they could get a job, ask family relatives if they want to donate for the trip, or ask for a sponsor to help them pay. He also will be doing fund raising himself to help with the cost of the trip. Hurry and reserve your spot!
