Books vs. Technology

Will the books disappear just as letters and Christmas cards? The technological world seems to be conquering books.

Sophomore Jose Coello says that technology is favored because you are looking for faster information.

Nowadays people prefer technology more than books.  A sophomore Jose Coello answered, “Technology is better because you can find any information and opinion instantly as opposed to a book.” A sophomore called Wendy Amaya said, “Many people use technology more because the books are already in the past.”

On the other hand, there were also people who voted for the book. Teacher of Intensive Mathematics Mr. Urrusuno said, “The book is better to study because it does not bring as many distractions as technology.” Another teacher who gave credit to the book was ESOL department head Ms. Couzo who said, “For elementary it is better to use books but in high school there should be a combination because books use more of the brain. On the other hand, technology is better used for projects.”

Meanwhile, in our school the use of technology is growing superior to book use.  According to computer specialist Mr. Frank Huezo, there are 1000 or more computers and laptops in the school.   At the same time, according to media specialist Ms. Mariana Torrossian, on average, about 100 books are checked out of the library each month while the computers in the library are used 3 hours per day, or about 60 hours per month.
