Simpleminded Adolescent

By Erick Flores, 12th Grade

College is not a lusty recourse

Because college is just a seahorse

The child loves Rock

So he is subordinate to Hip Hop

A bright future is so negligible

But a life twist is inevitable

The floor seems to be so yellow

Compared to their loud bellow

College is overriding

College is abiding

I’m not like them and that’s sad

Just something beyond the dyad

I think I’m dumb

Earth is to plum

Were they right the whole time?

Can it be broken down into chyme?

They prefer what’s bad and red

And I’m a simple lad as they said

Though I play more than just a drum

I think I’m dumb
