Chief’s Farewell

I joined the TIMES staff my freshman year, and haven’t regretted it since. As I worked, my way up from rookie journalist, to layout editor, chief copy editor then editor-in-chief, the journalism class has made my 4 years at Miami High an experience I’ll never forget.

I would like to thank newspaper advisor Dr. DeNight for giving me the opportunity to excel and improve at my craft. Without him and the journalism class, I would not be the sharp, quick-witted communicator that I am today, which has opened a lot of doors for me. With his engaging teaching tactics, witty character, and overall brilliant mind, Dr. DeNight has had a tremendous impact on my life.

After Stingtown, I will be attending Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida where I plan to major in political science and public relations, as well as join multiple interest clubs while there. Where ever I end up I will always have a special place in my heart for Miami High. I’m Stingaree-born, Stingaree-bred, and when I die, I’ll be Stingaree-dead.
