Stings Football Team
The Stings varsity football team is currently (0-2) at the beginning of the season. The first loss was to the North Miami Pioneers (6-35) on August 26th . The Stings also lost against the Southwest Eagles (7-41) on September 1st.
In spite of the defeats, Coach Rosales recognized some outstanding performances. Senior running back Willie Stewart had 63 yards rushing against North Miami and 46 yards and 1 touchdown against Southwest.
Senior Deshondre McCullough, who played quarterback against North Miami and defensive end against Southwest, had 13 yards rushing and 31 yards passing against North Miami and 5 assisted tackles, 7 solo tackles, and 2 sacks against Southwest.
Junior Tavaris Phillips, who plays linebacker and defensive end, had 7 assisted tackles, 5 solo tackles, and 1 sack against North Miami, and 7 assisted tackles, 8 solo tackles, and 2 forced fumbles against Southwest.
The Stings’ next game is on Friday, September 16th @ Curtis Park where they will face the Columbus Explorers
