Honoria

Looking for a club to join? Join Honoria. Established in 1948, Honoria, which started out as a service club for only girls, has been a co-ed spirit club since 2008.

It’s the only spirit club in Miami High history! This separates Honoria from other clubs like Beta, Key and Interact. “Honoria is also the only family-like club,” said Honoria’s president Giovanni Castillo.
The advisor Mr. Chaine said, “We always strive to consistently create a family atmosphere in which we all look to better ourselves as peers and improve ourselves as members of the school.” Honoria sponsors many different activities. Some of the most fun to participate in and watch are Mr. Miami High, which is a pageant for boys; the Powder-Puff, which is flag football for girls; and Club Tournament, which are games where the different school clubs compete against each other.
The requirement to join Honoria is a 2.0 G.P.A. Honoria consists of 50 to 70 members. It’s filled with great individuals that love helping people around them. Senior Cindy Lopez said, “I encourage students to join Honoria because it’s an amazing way to make new friends and make great memories.”
Senior Albert Villalobos said, “My girlfriend noticed that I wasn’t in a club, so she inspired me to join Honoria.”
A quote that every Honoria member knows, says, “I’m Honoria born, I’m Honoria bred, and when I die, I’ll be Honoria dead.”
“Honoria is forever,” is the Alma Mater of the club, said Chaine.
