Debate team advisor Ms. Suarez reports that Miami High won 1^st place at the MLK tournament on January 14^th at UM. They will participate in the “MDC Aspiring Changemakers” tournament at Miami Dade College on February 11^th.

On Saturday, November 19^th, Miami High’s Debate Team had their first official tournament at FIU where they won the School Sweepstakes award for the entire tournament. Additionally, in the individual team awards Tais Polo and Brianna Delisle won 1^st place, Christian Lozano and Andres Chavez won 2^nd place, Angel Navas and Nathalie Parra placed 4^th, Melani Patterson and Nataly Cancio placed 5^th, and Valetina Molina and Jancarlos Campas placed 9^th.

In the individual speaker awards Nataly Cancio placed 5^th, Valentina Molina placed 12^th, Brianna Delisle placed 14^th, Melissa Ravelo placed18^th, and Thais Maradiaga placed 19^th.

The next tournament will take place at FIU on December 17^th.
