Our Choir Makes A Stand!!!

Soloists and pianists at Palm Beach Atlantic University for the Florida Vocal Association’s Solo and Ensemble

Choir instructor Ms. Cid reports that her students participated in the state level of the Florida Vocal Association’s Solo and Ensemble on April 7th, at Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Soloists junior Alfred Cardenas and senior Jason Albisu earned Superior ratings. Soloists senior Kevin Martinez and Nayib Jorrin, junior Mayra Chavez, sophomores Mariah Moran and Liliam Montero, and freshman Jasmine Bermudez all earned Excellent ratings.

For the pianists, seniors Roger Alaniz and Eduardo Arriaga and sophomore Mariah Gonzalez all earned Excellent ratings.

“These students have represented MHS proudly for the first time in 20+ years at this competition, said Ms. Cid. “Their hard work should be recognized for the amount of growth they have shown in the past 9 months, knowing that singing and playing for an adjudication panel is not an easy task.” All soloists and pianists performed the same two pieces they presented at the district evaluation.

Adrienne Arsht Center

Ms. Cid’s Honors Choir will be performing their own pieces at the Adrienne Arsht Center on April 21st at 7 pm. If you would like to see them perform, visit Ms. Cid in room 4208 for the entrance fee. Performers obtain two free tickets. On May 16, all choirs and guitarists will perform in the spring concert. Entrance is $5, performers are free. On June 4th, beginning and advanced choirs will perform for the senior graduation. Entrance fee is not determined.
