On February 17, the Law and Leadership society hosted their 2nd annual “Lunch with a Judge.” A variety of students, some considering a career within the legal field, had the opportunity to have lunch with Judge Nushin Sayfie and attorney Roland Sanchez-Medina.

The lunch took place in Miami High’s museum room, which provided the perfect setting for professional conversation. Ms. Davalyn Suarez, the LLHS Advisor and a current law school student, said, “It’s important for students to hear the perspective of adults that are in a demanding career and that are successful.”

Multiple conversations took place, about universities, self-acceptance and self-esteem, and how to get into law school, etc. Participants were able to receive Judge Nushin Sayfie and attorney Roland Sanchez-Medina’s contact information in regardsto internships volunteer service, possible job opportunities, and future partnerships.

Cassandra Cardenas, the LLHS president, said, “The advice our guests provided was really helpful and gave me hope about my future. The fact that they think that it is OK to not know what you’re going to do in the future gave me a form of relief.”

“Being in that setting with professionals allowed for me to enhance my leadership,” said SGA President Pablo Iraheta.
