When February is around the corner, the only date on people’s mind is the 14th, the day when hearts show themselves to express their feelings even more.

Valentine’s Day is a special day where people get inspired and exchange presents to show their affection for the people they care about. People expect to celebrate this day of love. “I celebrate when I’m with someone in a relationship. Otherwise I don’t,” said junior Raonel Rodriguez, who likes going out to have dinner.

Freshman Sophia Torres thinks that the best way to celebrate is just to be with the people you love. Sophomore Dariel Chavez likes to cook dinner to impress his sweetheart.

There are many things to like about Valentine’s Day. “The best thing is that everyone is showing their love to everyone,” said sophomore Katherine Alvarez. Junior Arianna Perez enjoys seeing who really loves and appreciates her.

When Valentine’s Day is here, gifts are also bought and exchanged, but which one would be the perfect gift? According to Isabela Pereira, the best would be homemade, like a card. “It will have more meaning to it if it’s created by you instead of buying a card from a store,” she said.

“I made a box for my boyfriend with reasons why I love him. I think it’s something really sweet to give,” said sophomore Andrea Burgos.

However, others keep it simple. “I prefer to give roses with chocolate and a teddy bear. It’s classic, and girls love it,” said junior Julio Tarancon.

Everyone has their own experience on February 14. “My best Valentine’s Day was when I went to Disney with my family,” said sophomore Aby Ortiz. “It was super fun to spend that day with the most important people in my life.”

Freshman Samantha Fernandez’s best memory was when her crush asked her out to a dance that the school was doing.

When things don’t go like you plan, however, it can end up being one of your worst memories. “One time I was on a date and the person that I was going out with all of a sudden started feeling bad, so I had to get her home,” said sophomore Richard Lozada.

The school can also make this day even more special. “One of my teachers used to play the dating game. Now they don’t do it anymore, but they should,” said junior Valeria Garcia.

Another idea is to make a dance with lovely decorations to make it seem like the perfect day, added sophomore Barbara Perez.
