First Lunch
April 7, 2017
Lunch is a very important meal of the day, and from Monday to Friday it is eaten at school. It provides the body with energy for what’s left of the day until dinner time comes around.
Miami Senior High provides its students with two lunches. First lunch begins at 10:35 AM and ends at 11:10 AM. Only students who have their third period block in buildings 1 and 5 get to attend.
Second lunch then begins at 12:10 PM and ends at 12:45 PM. Students who have already finished their third block in buildings 2, 3, 4, and 7 attend this lunch.
As the first session begins at 10:35 AM, some students think that’s way too soon to already be eating lunch. “First lunch is way too early. I’d still be in bed by 10:35 AM. If I had to choose a time to eat lunch, I’d choose 11:00 AM,” stated freshman Bryan Pavon. Junior Brandy Alvarez would rather have first lunch start at 11:30 AM.
On the contrary, some students believe that 10:35 AM is just fine. “You’re only 25 minutes earlier than most fast food places and restaurants begin serving lunch, so what’s really the difference?” says sophomore Sophia Hervis.
“Time is just a set of numbers,” said sophomore Rachel Valdes. “There’s a difference between breakfast and lunch.”
The controversial question is, “Which lunch is better?” Junior Kelvin Rivera prefers second lunch because “It’s later throughout the day and I only have one class after it.”
On the other hand, freshman Ciara Torres said, “I believe first lunch is better because there are less students and you get the food fresh and hot as soon as it comes out.”
Throughout the years at Miami High, it is likely that your lunch schedule will change. “I’m only a sophomore, and I’ve already had both lunches,” says Wilman Carillo.
“I’m a senior and it’s back and forth each year,” mentioned Randy Rivera.

The writer did an amazing job at informing and explaining to the reader about what students think about 1st and second lunch. Not only that, but her format of writing was very talented.

The writer wrote this article in a good structure. She stayed in topic and put in a lot of details about the lunch. She gave opinions from a number of students so there was variety.

This is really useful to know, especially as a freshman trying to learn the lunch schedule. This was very well written and taught me a lot of new things.

I think this writer wrote fluently, and stayed on topic. The writer gave many different inputs/opinions. Left your own opinion to yourself, and was not biast. Wonderful piece :)
