On May 23, 40 of Miami High’s teaching magnet students boarded a bus to go to the Miami Zoo. The trip was a reward to students who have displayed academic excellence throughout the 2017-2018 schoolyear.

Teaching Magnet Ambassador Kency Herrera said, “The field trip was important to the ambassadors because the teaching magnet doesn’t really go on field trips, so we wanted to do something nice for both the primary and secondary strands. It was a team effort that allowed us to put together such a great trip.”

Senior Jennifer Garcia had low expectations for the trip, but after going, she said, “The field trip was pretty fun. It made me feel like a kid again.”
