During Covid-Times, it could get hard to see your friends because many students are participating in online school, and even if you do get to see them, it could be a hazard. You have to make sure you don’t invite too many people to your house and then be extremely careful because of COVID-19.

One of my favorite activities to do with my friends while staying safe from COVID is to hang out online playing games, watching a movie, or just talking and chilling. Here are some online games that are favorited among students at Miami High that deserve a try.

Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact, available to play on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and Microsoft Windows, is a free-to-play, action role-playing game. The game follows a series of stories; it takes place in a fantasy world. The story follows the main character and their twin. One of the twins gets taken away by a god never to be seen again. The twin that made it out goes on a long journey to rescue their sibling. In their long journey they meet Piamon and other friends that help them. Once you reach level 16, you can play with up to 4 friends and help fight the enemies.

VRChat

VRChat is a multiplayer online virtual reality social platform where you could play with your friends or meet new people. VRChat is free and available on Oculus Quest and on Microsoft Windows. It is one of my favorite games to play with my friends. One of the best things about this game is that you get to talk to people with your voice, so you do not have to be on a separate voice call with them. You could draw, watch videos and movies with your friends, play games or just socialize and meet new people. It is a fun game in general and will make time with friends fly.

Phasmophobia

Phasmophobia is a Survival horror multiplayer game that allows 2-4 players. The game costs $14 available on Microsoft Window. The game starts with you and your friends working as ghost hunters. You will have to go to haunted, abandoned places such as homes, schools, prisons and hospitals. You go inside of the abandoned buildings to investigate and gather evidence of paranormal activities.

The ghost will be following and hunting you throughout the game to kill you. Once you gather all your evidence and find out what type of ghost you are dealing with, you’ll be sent back home and get paid money in the game for you to buy more ghost hunting equipment for your next ghost hunting job.

Dead by Daylight

Dead by Daylight, available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, is a horror survival game. You could play with up to 4 people. One person will be selected to be the killer and will have to hunt the other players down. If you are a fan of the TV show “Stranger Things”, they also have Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Chapter. In this version of the game the Demogorgon must hunt down the other players.

Minecraft is a classic game to play with your friends. The game is available on almost every big device you own like phones, computers, Xbox, Play station, Nintendo, and so much more. You can play the game in two modes, creative and survival. On creative, you could get any item or block in the world and create amazing buildings and architecture with them. The survival mode is a little bit harder. You will have to find and create every block you use. Like in real life, you must go mining, gather wood and materials to build yourself weapons, armor, and a house. At nighttime you will have to be careful of monsters that will try to attack you. You will continue to look for items to make yourself stronger to defeat the final boss called the Ender Dragon.

Mario Kart Tour, another classic game, is available on iOS and Android. You could play up to 7 players. Players compete in go kart races through different maps and obstacles. You could use powerups or sabotage your friends to win.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, available on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite, is the most cute and relaxing game ever to play with friends. In the game you are this cute little human character that you get to design yourself. You live in this small island field with animals. You get to go fishing, catch bugs, pick fruits and sell items to get money. With the Money, you decorate your island and your house. You could join your friend’s island or have your friends join you.
