SCSI Throughout the year

Mr. Miranda says, “I think it is extremely helpful for the teachers, students, and even for the parents.”

Mr. Miranda, who is in charge of SCSI, reports that this year students visited SCSI since the first day of school and that he expects to have students sitting in the famous SCSI room until the very last day of school. There are always kids in SCSI. Mr. Miranda said, “Sometimes as few as ten, sometimes as many as thirty but every day there are many reasons why students come to CSI.” The most common reasons why students go to SCSI, he said, are uniform, skipping, and misbehavior in class. He thinks that even though the reasons students come to CSI are the same as last year, the visits are more often this school year.

“When kids come to CSI our goal is to keep them from coming to CSI again, doing all the things that are in our hands to make sure those kids learn from whatever the situation is that they have,” said Mr. Miranda. He believes that CSI makes a difference. “We have many important factors that help: Mr. Valdes who is extremely involved in CSI, counselors, and all the administrators. I have also great aides that also contributed to the success of CSI,” he said.

Mr. Miranda sees SCSI as a big benefit to Miami High. “I think CSI is extremely helpful for the teachers, for the school, and even for the students and the parents so that everyone is aware of what’s going on and what they need to do to make things better,” he said. Mr. Miranda also thinks that teachers help and facilitate the work so whatever is happening in their classes can be corrected.

His advice to students who visit CSI often is: “To learn from whatever mistake you’re making and try your best not to come back to CSI.”
