Ms. Perez, coach of the debate team, is proud to announce that Miami Senior High has qualified for the 2025 Urban Debate Nationals at Emory University this April!
On Saturday, February 22nd, the debate team excelled at the White & Case 2025 Policy Debate National Qualifier which earned our team the following awards:
For Team Sweepstakes, Miami Senior High placed 1st place and for solo Varsity speakers, sophomore Alessandro DePalma placed 1st, senior David Molina placed 3rd, and senior Micheal Porras placed 5th. The 2nd place Varsity Team & Nationals Qualifiers includes Alessandro DePalma and David Molina and the 3rd place Varsity Team includes Micheal Porras and senior Madelyn Mendoza. Madelyn won 3rd place for Overall Season Speaker, earning her a $100 prize.
