Football is full of amazing players, but some stand out more than others. The ones I enjoy the most are the ones who bring something special to the game, whether it’s scoring goals, assisting, making great passes, or controlling the field.
My current top five favorite players from the new generation are Vinicius Jr, Palmer, Rodrygo, Musiala, and Alphonso Davies. Each of them has something special, whether it’s their skills, speed, or even creativity.
1.Vinicius Jr

Vinicius Jr. is one of Real Madrid’s and Brazil’s key players. You might ask yourself how? Despite his questionable attitudes on the pitch that involve him arguing to the referees a lot, he’s undoubtedly a key player for both club and national teams because of the way he stands out from other players. With his speed, his dribbling skills, and goal-scoring ability, he’s breaking records from legends like Lionel Messi’s record of the Youngest Player to score in 2 Champions League finals and having the most Champions League knockout round assists.
Despite missing out on a unfair Ballon D’or campaign by earning 2nd place, he has accomplished many things such as having earned The Best FIFA’s Men Award of 2024, being included in La Liga’s Team of the Season for 3 consecutive seasons in a row, having 2 Champions League, 3 La Liga Titles, and many more. Despite not being able to yet win anything with Brazil due to their lack of consistency, club-wise, he still proves why he’s my #1 player of this generation.
My most memorable moment is when he played Barcelona in the Spain Supercup final, and he ended up scoring a hat trick (3 goals) against them. Another one is when he played against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, helping Real Madrid make another unforgettable comeback and scoring a hat trick (3 goals) against them.
2.Palmer

Have you ever heard of a player being too dumb to feel pressure? Well, Palmer isn’t dumb nor is he much of a talker. He lets his actions on the pitch speak for him whilst also earning the nickname of “Cold Palmer”. His exceptional football intelligence, ability to exploit spaces, and his tendency for finding and making crucial decisions, especially under pressure, and breaking records like the most penalties scored without missing make him a key player for Chelsea and England.
His performance in the Euros 2024 during the summer has exposed him more and more to the media despite being just a substitute for England during that time. His achievements speak for themselves, earning Chelsea Player of the Season, England Player of The Year, earning 2nd place in the Euros, and being a part of Manchester City’s, his previous club, legendary treble despite hardly getting any minutes. This treble consisted of 1 Premier League title, 1 Champions League, and 1 FA Cup.
My most unforgettable moment comes from this season. Palmer ended up scoring 4 goals against Brighton in the first half, setting a record of being the first ever player to score 4 goals before half time in Premier League history. Another one was from the 2023/2024 season when Palmer equalized the game at the last minute with a penalty against Manchester City, saving his team from dropping points.
3.Rodrygo

What player comes to your mind when you hear the word underrated? For me, it’s Rodrygo. He’s known for his great dribbling and versatility too. He’s able to play in a variety of positions such as LW, RW, and CF. Even though he is still underrated in my eyes, all of this has made him a key figure for Real Madrid and Brazil.
Whilst Rodrygo isn’t the main man, it has protected him from criticism by the media while also lifting him when he performs well. He has achieved a wide variety of awards such as having 2 Champions League, 3 La Liga titles, and many more. Not only that but he has also achieved records like being the 2nd youngest player to score a hat trick in the Champions League history and becoming the 5th youngest player to achieve 25 goals in the Champions League.
My most memorable moment was seeing Rodrygo score 2 goals against Manchester City, helping Real Madrid make one of the most memorable comebacks I’ve seen. Not only that, I remember his game against Atletico Madrid, scoring a crucial goal helping them win 2-1 in the Round of 16 of the Champions League.
4.Musiala

While many young talents emerge each year, Musiala’s unique abilities have made him impossible to ignore, his dribbling skills being often compared to Lionel Messi’s, earning him the nickname of the “German Messi”. Musiala has stood out due to his exceptional dribbling, ball control, along with his vision, passing ability, and game intelligence, making him a key player for Bayern Munich and Germany.
Despite missing out on the Golden Boy Award last season, Musiala has constantly kept showing his greatness by achieving a wide variety of awards such as German Player of the Year, Bayern Munich Player of the season, 4 Bundesliga titles, 1 Top Goal Scorer for the Euros 2024, and 1 Champions League (He was a part of the squad but didn’t get to play). While having a mix variety of awards, he has also achieved records like being the Youngest Player to Represent Germany and having the 2nd highest dribbles completed in the 2022 World Cup.
My most memorable moment was seeing him constantly dribble against players from Spain in the 2022 World Cup and assisting the equalizer against them. Another one came from the opening match against Scotland in the 2024 Euros this summer. He was a crucial player up until when he was subbed out in the 74th minute, helping them win 5-1.
5.Alphonso Davies

From being in a refugee camp in Ghana to now being one of the best LB’s (Left Back) in the world, Alphonso Davies journey has been nothing short of remarkable. His exceptional speed, dribbling ability, and his defensive intelligence, has made him stand out, all of this making him a key player for Bayern Munich and Canada, where he immigrated to from Ghana.
Alphonso Davies has constantly kept showing his greatness by achieving a wide variety of awards such as 4x Player of the Year for Canada, 2x CONCACAF Player of the Year, 5 Bundesliga Titles, 1 Champions League, and many more. Not only does he have a variety of awards, but he has achieved records such as being the first Canadian in history to score a goal in the World Cup and having one of the fastest speeds ever recorded in the Bundesliga.
One of my most memorable moments was seeing him setting the record for being the first ever Canadian to score in the World Cup. Another unforgettable moment was seeing him assisting in a match against Barcelona, where he ended up being a key figure to a historical 8-2 win in the Champions League.
