The Lady Stings started their regular season on November 10th with a big (73-31) win against Hialeah. According to Coach Sam “Boozer” Baumgarten Jr., top players in the game were Alondra Angulo with 16 points and Destiny Weldon with 12 points.

Being that the Lady Stings won the state championship two years in a row with All-State stand-out Beatrice Mompremier, will they be able to do it again without her?

Coach “Boozer”, who won the Top High School Coach Award for Dade County last year, said, “Yes, but we will have to become a better defensive team, and everyone will have to know their role. Though Beatrice is gone and playing college ball at Baylor, some of our starters from last year are back on this year’s team: Alondra Angulo, Andrisia Sweeting, Destiny Weldon, and Armani Paschal.”

Before the regular season, the Lady Stings took a big pre-season win on Thursday November 5th against Lourdes (58-50). The top player was Philneka Jackson with 21 points and 14 rebounds.

On November 2nd, the Lady Stings played against Gulliver in a pre-season game and won (52-47). Top players in that game were Alondra Angulo with 4 three pointers and Andrisia Sweeting with 10 points.
