Mr. Santiago Hernandez, better known as the Band Director of our proud Miami High, would like to congratulate all his students who gave their best performance at the Spring Concert, which took place April 30th in the auditorium.

Beginning band showed off the skills they’ve acquired as they learned their instruments from scratch and the concert band made a big roar as they played the theme song of Jurassic Park + more.

The jazz band has always been known for setting a groovy vibe across the room and as a final song, the symphonic band finished off the concert with a true “DisneyLand Celebration”, playing songs you’d hear across all Disney parks.

With summer around the corner, The Million Dollar Band will be hosting spring training for the new marching band season, with dates: May 21-22, May 28-29, and June 04-05 from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Knowing how to play an instrument is not required as long as you have the curiosity to try something new.

The Million Dollar Band (MDB) will also be hosting summer Band Camp. The dates are already set: Mini Band Camps from June 10 til 12 and July 7 til 8. There will also be upcoming auditions for MDB Percussion. All information will be properly announced on the MDB Instagram page: @miamiseniorhighband.

Finally, Mr. Hernandez announced to all his band classes that anyone and everyone that knows how to play an instrument can play at the upcoming Faculty Kickball game, which will be held next week, on May 9 after school.
