Coach Govea, the head basketball coach, reports that over the summer the team practiced a lot and even participated in team camps at FAU (Florida Atlantic University) and FIU (Florida International University), and WFU (Wake Forest University) where they competed against top-ranked national teams. He said that the team had a satisfactory performance in the camps. They also participated in the “Ambetter Classic” which is a showcase/tournament, and the team went 1-0 against Miami Suns; they could not play their second game due to their opponent having transportation problems.
The team will be hosting official tryouts on November 1st. Miami High’s most competitive/toughest opponents for the 2023-2024 season so far are Belen, Mater Lakes, and Norland.
