Having close friends in your life means to have people that care, have love for you and will be there for you when you need them for any little thing. Close friends are people that can understand you and you can have intimacy with.
People look for different qualities in friendship. Emily Candelario, a junior at Miami Senior High, said, “The type of friends I would want to have in my life are friends that don’t talk behind my back, good influencers, and people that encourage me to do things that I want to do.” Ms. Armas, an intensive reading teacher, said, “I would want to have loyal ones, caring ones, people that share common interest, that can also keep you grounded when you’re a little off, somebody that has your back.”
A friendship is a bond based on trust, honesty, strong feeling of love, and the same experiences. Michelle Gonzales, a sophomore that is also in color guard said, “A friendship is two people that grow together as friends and see each other through challenges and be there for each other no matter what.” Lizzy Alva, a senior, said, “A bond is something that is unconditional and something that should make you feel at home.”
Some people don’t have a lot of friends, some advice for them is to be open with each other and be nice. Agne Lazo, a senior, said, “It’s okay if you don’t have friends but if you really want some, you should find people that are honest, sincere, and people that would be there for you.” Michelle Gonzales a color guard member at Miami Senior High said, “I don’t really have a lot of close friends, but I would say probably like 2, I like to keep my circle small.” A sophomore Cesar Erazo said, “Socialize. You might meet someone you have a lot of things in common with. You never know.”
Some people struggle to keep a good friendship. Maybe because one would be talking about each other them behind their back, or they can’t get along very well. Ms. Armas, said, “I say me and my cousins have a really good friendship because we like being around each other and support each other.” Lizzy Alva said, “Me and my best friend Genisis have a really good friendship because first of all where both crazy, we have a lot of communication and that’s really the only possible way to trust each other.
Many people have different secrets on how to keep a friendship for a long time. Ana Bonilla, a sophomore, said, “My longest friendship has been 10 years since elementary 1st grade or 2nd grade. The only way you can keep a long and good friendship is by having a lot of communication and showing them, you would always have love for them.” Emily Candelario said, “Some secrets to keeping a good friendship is communicate and stay genuine.” Cesar Erazo, said, “I have probably like 9 or 10 close friends, I’ve been friends with them for like 8 years already because we play soccer together.”
Having best friends/ close friends is like having a brother or sister next to your side that you can count on when you need them. Lizy Alva, said, “Moral support. That’s what having someone you trust in your life feels like. Many people deserve to have at least a good friends in their life to be there for them.
