League of Prosecutors Judicial Endorsement Forum
On May 12th, the League of Prosecutors (LOP) held their Judicial Endorsement Forum in the MHS theater. At this event, 19 candidates, from both the county and the circuit courts, were given the chance to answer questions about themselves and explain why they should be endorsed by the LOP. Members of Miami High’s Law & Leadership Honor Society were given the chance to volunteer at this event.
Next year’s SGA president Pablo Iraheta gave the welcoming speech to those lawyers and judges that attended the event. LLHS president Cassandra Cardenas said the pledge of allegiance, followed by junior Ailema Perdomo who sang the Star Spangled Banner.
After deliberating, the LOP gave their endorsement to 4 judges from the county court: Hon. Fred Seraphin (Group 5), Hon. Ed Newman (Group 7), Linda Luce (Group 15), and Hon. Wendell Graham (Group 35); and 5 judges from the circuit court: Hon. Jason Bloch (Group 9), Mark Blumstein (Group 34), Carol “Jodie” Breece (Group 52), Hon. Robert Luck (Group 66), and Hon. George Sarduy (Group 74).
