“I am so sad for getting a B.”

“SHUT UP! I got an F.”

At Miami High some students have bad grades. “I am lazy to do all my homework,” said sophomore Odam Boan.

“I have been absent a lot so my grades went down,” said freshman Katherine Gonzales.

Freshman Caroline Perez added, “Every time I do my work, it doesn’t come out right.”

However, there are other students that try to have the best grades they can. “My grades are better than they were before because now I am trying more,” said freshman Ana Aguilar.

“I have good grades because I always turn in my assignments on time,” added freshman Andreina Bastides.

Students have different ways to bring their grades up. Freshman Fabiana Aguilar said, “I always ask my teachers for extra credit.”

“I do all my homework, and I go to tutoring,” said junior Jose Aponte. “I do all my assignments and study,” added freshman Remy Andino.

Getting straights A’s may be difficult, but if you put effort, you can do it. “Teachers always give a lot of work, and it’s hard to do it all,” said sophomore Andrea Cabrera.

“You have to do all your work and have it all right,” said junior Claudia Diaz.

Some students always do their best, while others think that if they tried they could do better. “If I concentrate more, I can do better in school,” said Spohmore Alejandro Martinez.

“I’ve always set goals, and I think that my capacity of doing things hasn’t reached its level. Therefore, I think that the grades I have now aren’t enough because I know I can do better,” said freshman Sofia Torres.

World History teacher Mr. D’arce is always giving advice to all his students. He said that developing a plan to stay organized is one thing that can help students with their grades. He recommends that students use an agenda to write all their assignments so they will not forget what they have to do.

Math teacher Mr. Strickland added, “A good way for students to be organize with the assignments is by learning how to use the grade book so they can know when the work is due.”
