Harvard at Stingtown!

By Ian Sanz, Staff Writer

Harvard University sent a student representative to speak to Miami High students on January 9th. Dozens of excited students poured into the library for the afterschool event. The speaker, who was born and raised in Miami, offered a breath of hope to students who came with common misconceptions about the school. Harvard, he revealed, is not a school reserved only for 4.0 students with perfect 1600 SAT scores. The university, first and foremost, wants well-rounded students. Applicants are much more attractive, he said, if they are active in their community, play an instrument, are involved at school, etc.
