Mr. Ricknauth of the science department is a very charismatic teacher. When he teaches, he makes jokes and tries to keep the class in a good mood. He’s nice to every student. He has good relations with his officers of Anime Nation, a club he advises. No matter where you see him, he tries his best to be a nice teacher.

The past of Ricknauth

Bhoojraj Ricknauth had a happy childhood. He had a lot of friends. The high school he went to was smaller than usual. This gave a sense of community since everyone knew each other. After high school, Mr. Ricknauth attended 3 different schools: University of Guyana, City University of New York, and the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. After obtaining his doctorate in medicine, Mr. Ricknauth worked in a foreign hospital. Once he finished working there, we went to MDCPS and got placed as a science teacher into Miami Senior High. He realized that he loved this school and never looked back to go somewhere else.

His Life in School

He teaches anything related to science. Ever since he was young, he loved science. Mr. Ricknauth loves teaching anatomy, and he also likes communicating with kids. His son used to work at Miami High as well. They both had a normal and professional relationship before his son left.

Other than being a teacher, Mr. Ricknauth advises the Anime Nation club, an interest club based on Japanese culture. They enjoy watching anime and playing games with each other. He’s a proud advisor and became the advisor of the old club. “The officers of Anime Nation are good kids who get along well, things that make me happy,” said Mr. Ricknauth.

His Life Outside of School

Outside of school, Mr. Ricknauth has different activities he does in his free time even though he admits, “School is life.”  His average day has him waking up, getting ready for work, going to work, finishing work and maybe going shopping. In order for school to not interfere with his life outside of school, he balances it and finds a median in order to keep things in control. He goes to the park and works out at the gym. He likes fishing, traveling, and watching sports.

Plans

Mr. Ricknauth has plans for both his students and him. He wants to dissect animals for his class. This includes pig organs like hearts, kidneys, and the brain. For his club, he wants it to “grow as a nation”. He would love the club to expand. The president of the club, Emily Ramirez, wants to do art gallery walkthroughs, inform the school about Asian culture and how it’s underrepresented. She also wants to make it a comfort space for fellow students in order to encourage everyone to join.

His plans would be to visit places like New York, Ocala, and Marco Island. His final plan is to retire, but hopefully not too soon.
