BETA
November 8, 2021
BETA’s advisor Dr. Hueck is proud to announce that they brought home another homecoming win with a perfect score. It’s the tenth year in a row that they have won the parade.
All of BETA’s members are incredibly involved and BETA got to grow even through Covid-19 last year. They are going to start inviting in more members the second week of November. BETA does at least two services a month but always reaches for three, and they believe that because homecoming is out of the way now, that they’ll have more time for services and fun club socials.
Their most recent service was a Halloween run, which took place on the 30th and it was a success! BETA is also having their first social of the year on the 11th of November. It’ll be held at the beach where there’s going to be fun activities, food, and welcoming arms.
If you ordered a BETA jersey, you will unfortunately have to wait another month because they are on back order. Also, if you pre-ordered a homecoming shirt, you must go pick it up soon or they will be sold to someone else. As always, BETA has a meeting every Wednesday at 2:30 PM, so be sure to wear your BETA merch on those days!
Dr. Hueck would also like to recognize some BETA members who have won some important awards:
– Leanna Mohem (Moe), BETA’s President won the Kiwanis Club Award
– Gabriel Ferrer (Arepas), one of BETA’s 1st VP’s, won the Princeton Book Award
– Lauren Valdes, BETA’s Treasurer, won the Miami Dade Sunshine State Scholar Award
– Jose Caballero, one of BETA’s Corresponding Secretaries, won the U-Miami Book Award (By Brooke Martinez)
