Everybody has a different way to get to where they want to go. Does it ever come to your head all the different types of transportation students at Miami High use to get to school? Walking may be one of them, but if someone gets too tired, a car or a bus can suit them as well.

Junior Geo Gonzalez walks to school while junior Maylin Borroto uses a school bus, but prefers a car.

Junior Rodniesha Soloman said she drives herself to school while sophomore Nataly Medina takes a private bus, “where I’m able to talk to many friends on the way.”

Transportation problems are very common. Junior Kyle Cubela, whose parents drop him off at school, said, “Sometimes I get late when it rains and there’s a lot of traffic.”

Junior Karina Castello said, “Last time my mom didn’t want to wake up, and she’s my only way to get to school.”

There’s always a reason why MHS students use the transportation they use. Junior Jose Espinoza said, “My parents just drop me off because I don’t have time to walk or any other way to get to school.” Junior Karina Castillo said “I use a car because it’s the most convenient way for me to get to school.”

Many students prefer having some other transportation than what they do have.  Junior April Hernandez said, “I prefer having my own car so that I can pick up my friends on the way.”

Junior Durhan Chavez also prefers to drive a car to school. “The bus is sometimes useful, but it takes too much time to get to school,” he said.

Freshman Monica Martinez walks to school but says, “If I had a car, it would be better because it’s fast.”

What is the best way to get to school?

  • Junior Mark Hunter: “A car is best for everyone because you get there quicker.”
  • Sophomore Luis Carillo: “A bus because there is more people on it and you can make friends.”
