Boys Volleyball

Stings boys’ volleyball team started their season with the motto #ALLIN, and recently finished their regular season showing the meaning to it. On Tuesday March 28th, the boys closed with a home match against Christopher Columbus High School. The Stings came back from 0-2, to almost upsetting the Explorers, who won 3-2 in a nerve-wrecking game.

The Stings ended the regular season with a district record of 7-2 and is now looking forward to District playoffs, which will take place on April 23rd and 25th at SLAM Middle High School. The team also participated in two tournaments.  At the Smoothie King Invitational at Ransom Everglades on March 24th – 25th, they played against previous State title competitors such as Monarch High School, from whom they almost stripped off a set, and Thomas More High, with whom they also had a tight match. They also played other competitive teams like Ransom High, but were not able to defeat any of these teams in what was the strongest pool in the tournament. The boys finished in the copper bracket.

They also played at SLAM Invitational, which took place on March 10th– 11th, where they defeated the Coral Gables Cavaliers and Braddock Senior High, but lost against Killian Senior High and Westminister Christian High School and finished second place within the bronze bracket.

The team would also like to thank Miami Elite volleyball club for its donation of practice gear and bookbags for the program.
