EHS president Ruth Canovas reports that the club will soon be recruiting members for Poetry Out Loud, a contest in which students perform poetry and are judged on their memorization and recitation. Winners advance from the classroom level to school-wide, regional, state, and ultimately the national level.

The most recent EHS meeting on Monday, March 19 discussed the story “Where Are You Going? Where Have You Been?” by Joyce Carol Oates. The next meeting on Monday, April 9 will discuss the short story “Desiree’s Baby” by Kate Chopin.
