Chess coach Mr. Aguilar reports that the team received third place in the district championships on April 9.  They also Traveled by bus to Nationals in Columbus, Ohio, from April 25-30 where 15 Stingarees had the privilege to compete in four distinct categories: In under 1200- Daniel Rodriguez, Dariel Chavez, Gamalier Garcia, and Steven Mencia; In under 800- Mario Camach, and Sergio Camacho. In unrated- Melissa Magalhaes, Lilith Berrios, Lisbeth Chavarria, Darius Wilson and Angel Martos.

Mario Camacho tied for 3^rd place, but received 11^th in the Nation due to tie breaks, and Sergio Camacho received 25^TH place. Angel Martos was awarded 10^th place and lastly the team was awarded 6^th overall place in the nation.
