In the midst of being 17

I am reminded of the wall between

adolescence and adulthood

Is it truly time to grow up?

or is it okay to still keep my childish antics?

Should I work for fashion magazines?

Maybe become a painter?

I could be a dancer,

Or I can work for theatre!

Is it okay to have a never-ending string of dreams and hopes at this age?

Despite all the internal conflict of being 17,

I will forever be in love with this age

In the midst of being 17

I have learned that I can eventually be anything I want to be

I can work for fashion magazines,

I can be a painter

I can become a dancer

I can work for theatre

And along the way,

Dang!

I can even become a chiropractor
