On Saturday May 11th, the Class of 2019 hosted Senior Prom. Tickets were being sold in activities office for the past month. Due to fundraising over the past four years the Senior Class was able to charge Seniors only $70, making Miami High’s Prom one of the most inexpensive Prom tickets in the county. Senior Class treasurer William Ramos stated that Prom was extremely successful with over 450 people in attendance.

Seniors walked into Jungle Island’s Treetop Ballroom, which had been transformed into an Enchanted Forest, fitting the theme perfectly. Seniors were treated to hors d’oeuvres, a buffet style dinner, and an ice cream bar. They also had the opportunity to take Prom pictures for purchase from Herff Jones and to use the photo booth free of charge.

In the midst of dancing the night away, activities director and Senior Class advisor Ms. Rivero announced that the 2019 Prom King was Christopher Ortiz and Prom Queen was Melany Patterson. As the night came to a close, students were given a free light-up tumbler cup, a wallet for the back of their phone, and a portable charger.
