Coach Ms. Ibarra said, “Every single one of them has had an amazing progression in their techniques. This sport is not only about who wins every single match, but about the endurance, how much they learn in training, and how their technique progresses as time passes by.”

Three Miami High wrestlers placed high enough at the districts tournament on February 20th to advance to the regional competition: senior Ernest Diaz qualifying in 2nd place, sophomore Jonathan Lagos and junior Giancarlo Umanzor qualifying in 3rd place. Unfortunately, senior Luis Varona got injured and did not advance. According to coach Ms. Ibarra, the team has had an amazing season with only four wrestlers. “Every single one of them has had an amazing progression in their techniques. This sport is not only about who wins every single match, but about the endurance, how much they learn in training, and how their technique progresses as time passes by.”
