Boys basketball wins some and loses some

By Joshua Guerrero, Staff Writer

Boys basketball coach Mr. Humberto “Tico” Govea’s reports that the team’s overall record at the end of the season was 14-10. The season was cut short due to their big loss in the district semifinal game against Columbus, who was their toughest opponent this season. Their most competitive matchup this season was against Norland, where Miami High came short 79 – 81. The team’s best win this whole season was 64-56 against Miami Country Day, and this was on the same night that former Stingaree basketball alumnus Udonis Haslem’s jersey was retired.

Honorable mentions this season go out to Joshua Middlebrooks (Senior) averaging 22.5 points per game, Romari Robinson (Sophomore) averaging 15.7 points per game, and Absalon Cortes (Sophomore) averaging 12.5 points per game. (by Joshua Guerrero)
