Business and IT department chairperson Ms. Benavides reports the classes in her department such as accounting 1, 2, and 3 and business communications and technology, which is a required class in both the law and teaching magnets, offer helpful skills people can utilize in postsecondary education and in their future career path. Accounting can help you grasp the basics of finances and business communication tech teaches you how to manage a business. She also reports on the club she was in as a student at Miami High: Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), a student organization that prepares students for careers in business through competitions and programs.
