As the 2024 – 2025 school year ends, Ms. Enriquez, Sophomore Class Advisor, reflected on her proudest accomplishment: “Maintaining my mental health by sticking to the boundaries I set at the start of the year.”
Her biggest challenge was “learning to say ‘no’ without guilt,” which helped her avoid burnout.
She shared an unforgettable memory: “I’ll never forget the look on junior Herbert Bresier’s face when he won a $10,000 scholarship at the FIU Regional Conference.”
The day she would relive would be, “The Teach Magnet Banquet with the Class of 2025. We laughed, danced, and celebrated four years together,” she said.
She noted personal growth in letting students take more responsibility: “I can guide them, but I can’t carry them.” Her goals stayed the same, but “we made small adjustments to stay true to our vision.” She gave credit to her colleagues Ms. Armas, Ms. Rivero, Ms. Puentes, and Ms. Rodriguez for keeping her grounded.
Ms. Armas, Junior Class Advisor, introduced the Class of 2027 officers: “President Michell Gonzalez, VP Andy Lopez, Recording Secretary Rachel Garcia, and Corresponding Secretary Natalia Castellanos.”
Her advice would be: “Buckle up, Buttercups, because you must be on top of everything since you are responsible for making their junior year amazing.” Plans include “obviously homecoming which is something big at the beginning of the school year, the junior trip to Busch Gardens, amazing ring ceremony, and I’m sure they will come up with other ideas and fundraisers,” said Ms. Armas.
