Debate coach Ms. Albornoz reports that the final tournament was on March 17 at Florida International University, where two of Miami High’s varsity teams made it to the final round and competed against each other. Lisbeth Chavarria & Brianna Delisle placed first and Angel Martos & Andres Chavez placed second.

“This year’s debate team showed true character and determination. They worked long hours to prepare, and it showed at our final debate where we won 1^st & 2^nd place. Their drive & passion inspire me,” Ms. Albornoz said.

She would like to recognize Lisbeth Chavarria, who is a first-year debater, for her hard work and for earning the most wins this season.

This year’s top debaters, based on average points or average ranking, were Angel Martos, Angel Navas, Brianna Delisle, Julianna Jaramillo and Lisbeth Chavarria.
