BETA

“BETA is a club for everyone,” said Rolando Morales, BETA’s corresponding secretary. “We promote perseverance and academic discipline; every top student is in BETA.”

On Saturday, January 15th, BETA is hosting a beach clean-up from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm and it will even receive media coverage. All 100 spots to the service have been taken. Rolando Morales said, “This service is an example of BETA being involved in positive change.”

Their next service is on February 6th from 7:30 am to 2 pm in Bayfront Park, where they will be passing out water to people in the Miami Marathon. There are 150 spots, which makes it one of their biggest services.

BETA’s latest social was on Wednesday, January 12th, where they collaborated with InTouch for a “let it go” lantern social. Students who signed up for the social were given a canvas, paint, and pens, and were told to write things you want to leave behind in 2021 and then to paint over it.

On Friday, January 14th, BETA is hosting their annual club photo so if you’re an official BETA member remember to wear a homecoming shirt or BETA jersey.

Dr. Hueck would also like to recognize some BETA members who have already been accepted into great schools:

  • Gabriel Ferrer got accepted into Harvard University
  • Rolando Morales got accepted into New York University
  • Valerie Hernandez got accepted into Emory University
  • Lisbet Sanchez got accepted into Cornell University
  • Alberto Figueroa got accepted into Rice University
  • Carlos Salcerio got accepted into Yale University
  • Ginelle Servat got accepted into Stanford University
