In 2021 my family and I wanted to do something for Thanksgiving. We all decided that we’d go to my aunt’s house that lives in Georgia, and we wanted to go for a week. 

   We planned this a month in advance so we could buy clothes and stuff we would need to go over there. It had been a very long time since we had been to her place, and I was really excited to go and see my aunt and cousin. 

 Airplne tickets  

    A month in advance my aunt, grandparents, and mom were talking about how we were going to Georgia.  My mom didn’t want to go driving, so we decided to go in an airplane.  My mom and aunt looked online to see the tickets and the prices and got all of our tickets for around $500.  

 In the airport  

   We went to Georgia in America Airlines and came back in  Frontier.  The flight was set to take off at 9:00 PM so we got there an hour earlier but the flight got delayed 3 times.  

   When we got the message that we had been delayed for the first time, we were in gate 1 and were told that the new gate would be 37. When we got there, we were tired because we were speed walking, but then right when it was almost time to leave, we got another message that the gate and time were changed again.  

    By the time we left it was around 12 midnight, and when we arrived it was around 1 AM. It took us an hour to find our luggage; we were one of the last ones to find it. My aunt picked us up around 3 AM, and when we got to her house, it was around 5 AM.   

  The places I went  

   In Georgia my aunt took us to a little cute town in Gwinnett where we walked and played around. A day later we went to a Korean BBQ restaurant. The restaurant was amazing; I tried wonderful meat and food that I hadn’t tried before.  

  We also went to a place I have wanted to go to for so long, The Georgia Aquarium, the only North  American aquarium to have manta rays and whale sharks. Not only that, but it is the first in America and third in the world for being the largest aquarium. I love that place, and I was so excited to go. I would go there so many times if I had the money.  There were so many fish that I hadn’t seen before. It was so cool. 

   A day before Thanksgiving, my grandparents arrived in Georgia. On Thanksgiving morning we went to Cracker Barrel, and in the afternoon we went to another family member’s house that lives in the same area as my aunt. 

Airplane travel tips 

Get there early  

Get gum to chew in the plane  

Have a good neck pillow  

Eat before boarding 

Dress comfortable
