Anime Nation is starting off the 2023-24 school year with an entirely new group of club officers considering the recent graduation of all of the club‘s previous officers and many of its members in the spring. Now responsible for leading the club are new president, senior, Marcos Villalobos; vice president, senior, Braynon Gay; and treasurer, junior, Mauricio Soza. Although short on members and officers, Anime Nation is striving to make a comeback going into the 2023-24 school year with more participation within the club and around the school in general.
“I just want to grow the club to a point where everyone knows anyone is welcome to join to us every Thursday after school to relax and have fun,” stated President Marcos Villalobos.
“This club means the world to me as it gave me a place to belong when I first came in person sophomore year after the pandemic and was struggling to readjust to people,” said Vice President Braynon Gay. “Before I graduate in the spring, I want to regrow the club to its former glory so it can live on to serve students and give them a place to have fun and feel comfortable the same way it did for me.”
Anime Nation is hoping to host some fundraisers and fun events this year. The club is advised by Dr. B. Ricknauth and will soon begin having meetings every Thursday after-school in room 3315 at 2:30 pm.
