Our Million Dollar Band is staying busy with a packed schedule of performances and preparations. Drum Major Celeste Velasquez reports that during Teacher Appreciation Week, members took part in the annual faculty kickball game, bringing music and spirit to the event. Spring training begins later in May to help incoming members learn the fundamentals of marching and playing, while also helping returning students get back into rhythm.
The band banquet is set for May 9, when next year’s show theme and leadership team will be revealed. Looking ahead, the band will perform at the senior pep rally and graduation ceremony before kicking off summer with their annual band camps.
Recently, the band performed at the Downtown 5K marathon and delivered a strong showing at the spring concert on April 28. It has been a busy season—and it is just getting started.
