Coach’s thoughts on the team
Coach B’s main goal is to improve every single one of the wrestlers in the program to perform much better each year. Asked what he can do to improve as a coach, he stated that he will be meaner, indirectly quoting Niccolo Machiavelli when he mentioned, “It is better to be feared than to be loved” since fear brings respect.
Coach Aguado states that his main goal is to see the results of the hard work being put by the team in every practice. He says that everyone needs more experience and that the new wrestlers are required to work hard.
Wrestlers thoughts on the team
The wrestlers on the team, had their own expectations for the 2025-2026 season. Junior wrestler Miguel Arredondo stated, “To be top 2 in our district was my expectation and I didn’t want 2nd.”
Junior wrestler Leonardo Mendoza hoped to earn the respect of other schools and to show that the wrestling team is a real program with real competition.
Junior Gianluca Artiles stated, “I wanted to prove myself once and for all and claim as many victories as possible to show to not only myself and my peers that I am not just a valiant wrestler, but someone whose name can be respected.”
