Have you ever been on a vacation with family members or friends or maybe even by yourself? With summer vacation approaching, it might be time to think of your next trip.
Ms. Utrera, a 10th grade intensive reading teacher, said, “My favorite vacation was going to Paris because I got to the see Eiffel Tower. I loved to see the art at the Louvre. It was beautiful.”
Brian Jarquin, a sophomore, said, “I went to Colorado for a ski trip. I had fun skiing down the little hills with my family. The snow was really cold.”
Triana Suarez, a junior, said, “I went to Disney for Christmas. It was different from the summertime. I went on so many rides, I ate a lot, and I also took so many pictures. I was with my family, so I had a good time.”
Yusleybi Cabrera, a sophomore from Palmetto Senior High who used to attend Miami High, said, “One of my favorite vacations was when I went to Cancun, Mexico, for the first time. This was my favorite vacation because it was the first time I had gone out of Miami other than my home country, Cuba.”
Nicole Delsol, a sophomore, said, “Going to Tampa with my family was one of my favorite vacations I’ve had.”
Christina Perez, a senior, said, “I would love to travel to Jamaica because I want to go to a beach called Doctor’s Cave Beach that is in Montego Bay. I would like to go because of the clear water and because there is also this little pathway in the water that you could walk on.”
Sophomore Miguel Arredondo said he would like to travel to Kansas because of the tornados. “I heard that Ford County in Kansas has the strongest tornados,” he said.
In spite of the desire to travel far away, some people get scared of getting on planes. Getting car sick is also a common thing.
Zoey Sanchez, a freshman, said, “I would love to go to so many different places around the world, but I get scared of going on planes. What scares me the most is turbulence. I don’t like how the plane shakes but if I wasn’t scared I would’ve loved to go to El Salvador because of the beaches, and I also love the food from there. I heard the beaches have big waves and is also one of the best beaches to surf at.”
